Two weeks ago, Jay-Z and Kanye West broke iTune’s first week album sales record. That record did not stand for long however. Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ has now sold over 300,000 units on iTunes, breaking the iTunes first week album sales record once again. And to add to that, it has only been four days. It will be interesting to see if the album can make it to a million in overall sales by the end of the first week. Seems as if the leak isn’t hurting Wayne’s pockets too hard. The sales however do not come without complication. Lil Wayne and ‘Tha Carter IV’ have recently been slapped with legal action due to beat theft alligations. Lil Wayne has been accused for stealing the beats for his hit songs ‘She Will’ and ‘How to Love’ off of the ‘Tha Carter IV’ album. Legal action has been taken regarding the ‘How to Love’ beat by an artist named Rich Rick who happens to claim owning the rights to the beat. Wayne has not commented on the suit as of now. As for the ‘She Will’ alligations, no lawsuit has been filed as of yet. However artists Jim Guthrie and J-Lie separately claim that ‘She Will’ was originally theirs.
